Hola and welcome!
I’m Dr. Maite Rodríguez Márquez, founder of Bridge of Learning.
I’m a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Puerto Rico, and an educator, writer, and researcher with a PhD in Educational Leadership. My work sits at the intersection of education, writing, and advocacy, with a special focus on bilingual education and special education.

Today, Bridge of Learning is where I bring these passions together. I:

-
Write and create resources that help families, educators, and communities understand autism, diverse learning needs, and bilingual education in clear, hopeful language.

-
Support graduate students and researchers as a thesis and dissertation coach, helping them clarify their ideas, organize their chapters, and write with confidence.

-
Advocate for families of children with disabilities, connecting lived experience with research-based guidance so they feel informed, supported, and empowered.

Through a blend of storytelling, research, and practical guidance, my mission is to build bridges of learning that inform, inspire, and honor the lived realities of diverse communities.

Alongside my academic and counseling work, I am also a creative writer. Through novels, poems, and stories of resilience rooted in Puerto Rican and Caribbean life, I explore themes of identity, family, faith, and hope. My literary work is another bridge: it invites readers to recognize themselves, heal old wounds, and imagine new possibilities for their own stories.

Stories, heritage, and insights from our journey in language and culture.
